Vice President Kamala Harris's husband Doug Emhoff has tested positive for COVID-19 but is"feeling well," according to President Joe Biden.
Emhoff's positive result scrambled the White House's celebration of Women's History Month Tuesday night, which Harris was scheduled to attend but skipped out of what aides described as"an abundance of caution." Harris had been with Biden earlier Tuesday and was beside him and other prominent lawmakers, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, when the president signed the $1.5 trillion government funding bill into law.
“He’s feeling very well, I’m told," Biden said at the White House women's event. The president asked the crowd to"send" Harris"our love." Biden had momentarily confused the audience, one of the largest White House gatherings of his administration, by announcing"the first lady’s husband” had COVID.— RNC Research March 15, 2022 Harris's deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters the vice president had tested negative today"and will continue to test.”Emhoff's positive test comes after several House Democrats contracted COVID at their annual conference in Philadelphia last week.
