Doug Emhoff accused of ‘forcefully slapping’ NYC girlfriend in 2012: report

A second friend, who claimed Jane also told her about the alleged incident, further described how Emhoff’s ex was blindsided by what allegedly took place. Jane’s friends claimed to the Daily Mail that she wanted to leave without Emhoff and go back to the hotel “without him” after he allegedly assaulted her, but he allegedly “forced himself” into her car.
She also claimed Emhoff never apologized to Jane, and instead allegedly made a tennis joke the next day about how she retaliated, saying, “‘Don’t worry about it, you got one across the court and down the line.'”The lawyer implied that he and his ex were then “even,” per the source who spoke to the Daily Mail.
“I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side.”
