The vice president was found to have closed the gap to former President Donald Trump in seven swing states, according to a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll.
In just over a week since launching her presidential campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris has closed the gap to former President Donald Trump across seven key swing states, according to one recent poll.Voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin were surveyed for a Bloomberg News and Morning Consultant poll between July 24 and 28 on who they would vote for between Harris and Trump if the 2024 election were held today.
But Tuesday's results are an improvement for Democrats. In a Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll conducted at the beginning of July, then-Democratic presumptive nominee President Joe Biden trailed Trump by 2 percentage points on average across the seven states.Harris was also found on Tuesday to be beating Trump in Arizona , Michigan , Nevada , and Wisconsin . Trump was still up by 4 percentage points in Pennsylvania , and the candidates were tied in Georgia at 47 percent.
