Vice President Kamala Harris said she is ready to take over as president but dismissed the idea that her transition to the Oval Office will be needed.
"Yes, I am, if necessary," Harris said when asked by CBS News's Margaret Brennan if she is ready to be commander in chief."But Joe Biden is going to be fine."Brennan cited a recent Wall Street Journal poll that found two-thirds of Democrats believe Biden is too old to be president. At 80, Biden is the oldest president in U.S. history.
"Many have talked about doing this," she said."This is the work under Joe Biden's leadership that has actually been accomplished. And I think the American people, most of all, want a leader who actually gets things done. And that is what Joe Biden has accomplished."
