A new poll found Harris has surpassed Joe Biden's support in five swing states.
Vice President Kamala Harris has recovered some of the support President Joe Biden was losing in five battleground states, according to a new poll.Harris is the Democrats' likely presidential nominee after Biden dropped out of the 2024 race on Sunday and endorsed her to take on Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, in November.
Support for Harris surpassed the support that Biden had in those states, according to an Emerson College Polling survey conducted between July 15 and 16.That survey was carried out as Biden faced calls to quit the race following a disastrous debate performance against Trump in late June that raised concerns about the 81-year-old's age and ability to defeat Trump. Trump was experiencing a boost after surviving the assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.
