On early signing day, Kalen DeBoer talked Alabama's footprint.
head coach is heavy on one region that’s nowhere near Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide signed 20 players so far on the first day of the class of 2025′s early signing period, and seven of them came from California.
It makes sense. DeBoer came to Alabama from Washington, where he had been recruiting in the Pac-12 footprint for several year, and he’d previously coached Fresno State, working hard in California. When Nick Saban retired in January, DeBoer had to get to work at retaining the Crimson Tide’s current roster, and piecing a staff together.
But in the meantime, DeBoer and company have worked to build more of a presence, both in the region as a whole, and Alabama specifically. He said the Alabama staff got to meeting some high school coaches in January after it arrived, something continued in the spring and will keep going in the future, as DeBoer tries to further embed in the southeast.
