Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki suffered another violent attack from supporters. Here's why the Soweto giants are in hot water.
As The South African website reported on Saturday evening, the Glamour Boys were dumped out of the Carling Knockout final 16 by Usuthu after a Taariq Fielies goal on 88 minutes.The result meant Chiefs might mark a ninth season without a trophy if Amakhosi fail to win the DStv Premiership title and Nedbank Cup in May.
Additionally, coach Ntseki failed to do his post-match interview on the pitch. The former Technical Director was attacked with thrown missiles, an event that had previously taken place twice in Nelspruit and Polokwane this season.After taking a R200 000 fine in September, the PSL warned Chiefs fans that another similar violation will lead to a stadium ban.
“In the event, they were to be found guilty of the same offence during the next six months. This is what is traditionally referred to as a lockout, and it is contemplated in the rules of the league,” the PSL’s advocate Zola Majavu said last month, as quoted by“Sadly, and unfortunately, the import of it is that it will affect other innocent spectators or fans of the club they are scheduled to play next.
“That will only happen if they are found guilty again within the next six months, and having been so convicted by the PSL etc. This is indeed a serious warning shot issued by the league through its judicial body, and it is perfectly contemplated in the rules of the league,” Majavu added.
