Terrence Mashego is heading into his third season with City after joining the club on a three-year deal in 2020 from TS Galaxy.
With his impressive performances for the Cape-based side, Mashego, who is rated as among the best left-backs in South Africa has since attracted interest from Chiefs.According to insiders, the Siya crew can exclusively reveal that the Cape-based outfit have triggered the option in Mashego’s contract to deflect interest in the side's star player.
“Kaizer Chiefs have approached Terrance and have tabled an offer for him but as you know, he still has another year to go on his deal and City are eager to extend his deal. This means that Chiefs will have to buy him out of his contract,” a source told the Siya crew. The 26-year-old is Hugo Broos’ preferred choice in the Bafana Bafana side and has been a consistent performer.
Amakhosi are in the midst of a huge rebuild after concluding yet another season without silverware and have already released 10 players and announced the arrival of Zitha Kwinika and Ashley Du Preez from Stellenbosch.
