The amount of makeup on his face doesn't exactly reflect the average dude's in LA, though. Holland's eye, lips, and cheeks are splashed in his favorite color of cosmetics at the moment: coral.
"I heard that a lot of the American guys don’t put makeup on," Holland points out. "In Korea, it’s totally the opposite — a lot of Korean guys are interested in using makeup." And Holland's love of makeup hasn't waned simply because he's in America; in fact, one of the first things Holland said to me after we met was who makes the prismatic purple eye shadow I have on. Holland's close relationship with makeup started in high school. At first, he focused on skin care because he struggled with breakouts. Then, a friend encouraged him to try foundation. "A lot of people complimented that look, so I kept putting it on," he recalls. "I gained a lot of confidence at that time.
