The Justice Department announced a new task force to address antisemitism on college campuses, following a surge in incidents after Hamas' attack on Israel. The department is also investigating several universities, including Columbia and UC Berkeley, for alleged tolerance of antisemitic behavior. The move comes as former President Trump urged aggressive action against anti-Jewish bias on campuses.

House Republicans applauded the new investigations. Rep. Tim Walberg, chair of the Education and Workforce Committee, said he was “glad that we finally have an administration who is taking action to protect Jewish students.” The new task force announced Monday includes the Justice and Education departments along with Health and Human Services.
