Supercars: Young gun Broc Feeney's Bathurst 1000 has ended in tears with the Red Bull star 'out of business' after a shock gearbox issue with less than 30 laps to run.
“This place can be the best but it can also be the worst,” the 20-year-old driver told Chad Neylon, still processing the cruel end toFeeney was sitting in second place and pushing Shane van Gisbergen for top spot heading into the final 25 laps before suddenly being forced into the garage with a gear issue.
“They’re out of business, aren’t they. There’s no coming back from here ... what a disaster,” Neil Crompton added. “It’s all about the rollercoaster journey. I turn 21 in a couple of weeks so hopefully I get to come back to this place plenty of times and have another crack at it. “... Obviously the stack at the start didn’t help but we fought really well back and we were super fast. I don’t know what to say.”Feeney’s teammate van Gisbergen ended up taking out his third victory at Mount Panorama.
