Jurors heard opening statements and the first witness testimony in 2024 candidate and former President Donald Trump’s New York hush money trial on Monday. The prosecution and defense offered differing depictions of Trump’s actions, with prosecutors depicting Trump as a co-conspirator in a criminal conspiracy, and the defense arguing that Trump’s actions were not illegal.

In total, 210 Democrats and 101 Republicans voted in favor of the Ukraine aid bill, while 112 Republicans voted against it. Some hard-right Republicans argued that Congress should instead focus on increased security at the U.S.-Mexico border.Manhattan prosecutors delivered a raw recounting of Donald J.

“It was election fraud, pure and simple,” prosecutor Matthew Colangelo said in his opening statement, as the jurors watched intently.
