STARK COUNTY , Ohio - The jury in the trial for a convicted sex offender accused of kidnapping a woman at knifepoint, started deliberating Wednesday and reached a verdict late in the evening. Jamie Triplett was found guilty on a number of charges and will be sentenced by Judge Chryssa Hartnett on Feb.
9.Jackson Township police said the 31-year-old woman was abducted at 6:26 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2025 from the Rodeway Inn on Sunset Strip Avenue NW.The woman, whose name we are not reporting, was found safe the next morning at the Perry Inn on Lincoln Way in Perry Township. According to court records, Triplett is a Tier III sex offender with a 2012 rape and kidnapping conviction. He was released from prison on Feb. 18, 2025.
