A jury acquitted a Fairbanks man of all the sexual assault charges lodged against him, but he was deemed guilty of other charges.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - After five days of testimony and attorney arguments, a jury acquitted a Fairbanks man of all the sexual assault charges lodged against him.
Tests turned up another person’s DNA on Eakin’s hand, but the amount was not enough to generate a profile, the defense argued, with Racette adding that one would expect more DNA to show up had the alleged sexual crimes taken place. The jury found Eakin guilty of misdemeanor assault in the fourth degree, as well as misdemeanor crimes of interfering with the report of domestic violence and violating conditions of release.
