T-Rex in Jurassic World Rebirth.
The first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth teased another thrilling and action-packed adventure through the land of dinosaurs. The story of Jurassic World Rebirth centers around Scarlett Johansson's Zora Bennett as she and her team try to retrieve dino DNA from an island inhabited by mutated dinosaurs from a Jurassic Park laboratory.
The mutant dinosaurs in Jurassic World Rebirth aren't the only remarkable things to appear in this upcoming film. One scene from Jurassic World Rebirth's trailer shows characters getting attacked by dinosaurs on a boat. This sequence is noteworthy because it is very similar to a scene from Michael Crichton's novel Jurassic Park. Though it was originally supposed to be adapted for Steven Spielberg's 1993 film adaptation, what could've been a remarkable scene ended up on the cutting room floor. Finally, Jurassic World Rebirth has seized the opportunity to bring this scene to life on the big screen, which should benefit the sequel's performance in theaters. Jurassic World Rebirth's T-Rex River Attack Scene Is Pulled From The Original Jurassic Park Novel Jurassic World Rebirth Finally Adapts A Scene Axed From Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park Movie Overall, 1993's Jurassic Park succeeded in adapting Crichton's novel for the big screen. However, the book does have a spectacular scene that the Jurassic Park film omitted. The sequence features Alan Grant fleeing with Tim and Alex Murphy onto the park's Jungle Cruise ride, only for a T-Rex to chase them across the river and for the heroes to fall down a waterfall. The scene is written out in the novel as follows: “The tyrannosaur was now chest-deep in the water, but it could hold its big head high above the surface. Then Grant realized the animal wasn’t swimming, it was walking, because moments later only the very top of the head—the eyes and nostrils—protruded above the surface. By then it looked like a crocodile, and it swam like a crocodile, swinging its big tail back and forth, so the water churned behind it.” Jurassic World Rebirth has repurposed this scene from the original novel, as shown in the trailer when a T-Rex tries to devour a red-shirted character swimming underwater. Likewise, the trailer shows a handful of spinosauruses and other larger dinosaurs, including a T-Rex, attacking multiple characters when they are on a boat on the water. The way some of these dinosaurs appear in the water fits the description of the T-Rex resembling a crocodile in the novel. The scene also makes the spinosauruses look like sharks as they swim in the water and attack the boat, harkening back to both Jurassic Park III and Steven Spielberg's film, Jaws. Jurassic Park Cutting Out The T-Rex Attack Scene Is Helping Jurassic World Rebirth Jurassic World Rebirth Adapting This Attack Scene Helps The Film Stand Out In The Franchise Close The river chase sequence in the trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth looks outstanding. Since there was not enough time or money to include such a scene in Jurassic Park, it arguably wouldn't have looked as good as it does now, considering how far CGI technology has evolved since 1993. The fact that Jurassic Park ended up not using this scene very much worked out in the long run, particularly in the sequel's favor. Related What Island Jurassic World Rebirth Takes Place On Jurassic World Rebirth returns the franchise to an island setting. But does it take place on Isla Nublar or Isla Sorna, or a completely new island? Posts 2 The inclusion of such an exciting and distinctive scene in Jurassic World Rebirth helps the film stand out from previous movies in the Jurassic Park franchise. This can help the film appeal to moviegoers and encourage them to see it in theaters. It could especially attract fans of Spielberg's original film and Crichton's novel, who were hoping to see the river scene from the latter appear on-screen. While Jurassic World Dominion could've finally let the franchise rest, the sequel's long-awaited river attack scene shows that there are still plenty of exciting and suspenseful stories that can be explored in theaters. All in all, the dinosaurs' attack on the boat in Jurassic World Rebirth helps justify the movie's existence to audiences. While Jurassic World Dominion could've finally let the franchise rest, the sequel's long-awaited river attack scene shows that there are still plenty of exciting and suspenseful stories that can be explored in theaters. It may have taken over 30 years to bring this scene to life on film, but Jurassic World Rebirth may prove to fans that it was worth the wait.Jurassic World Rebirth Action Adventure Sci-Fi Thriller Release Date July 2, 2025 Director Gareth Edwards Writers David Koepp, Michael Crichton Prequel Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 3, Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World: Dominion Franchise Jurassic Park Cast See All Main Genre Adventure Character Zora Bennett, Duncan Kincaid, Dr. Henry Loomis, Martin Krebs, Reuben Delgado Distributor Universal Pictures Powered by Expand Collapse
