What she thought was an opportunity for that turned into hundreds of dollars going to a scammer.It all started from what she thought was a harmless Facebook message sent to her this month.
“When they got that, they would send my package of $50,000 to me I was sitting waiting and waiting for it,” said Symmerman. Now the gift cards have no money and for the so called “package” the scammers told Symmerman it was stopped by police. Then, came more requests for money.says only scammers will tell you to buy a gift card, like a Google Play or an Apple Card, and give them the numbers off the back of the card. Some companies are working to fight against gift card scams and may give you your money back if you just ask. Symmerman said she filed a police report.
