The next four full moons will all be closer to the Earth than the average full moon, so they will appear bigger and brighter in the sky
In addition to being a supermoon, the Aug. 30 full moon will also be a “blue moon,” because it will be the second full moon during the same calendar month.
The July full moon, commonly known as the "buck moon," will be glowing in the night sky during the week of Independence Day 2023. It will be the first of four straight "supermoons."The Native American Algonquin tribes in what is now the eastern region of the United States nicknamed the July full moon the “buck moon,” according to NASA and the Old Farmer’s Almanac, because this time of year is when the new antlers of male deer — bucks — are in their full growth stage.
