Keith Soto, 37, will not be eligible for parole until he’s served 37 years in prison for the shooting death of 29-year-old Jeremy Butcher.
AKRON, Ohio — A Euclid man who shot two men, killing one of them, after arranging to buy marijuana was sentenced Monday by a Summit County judge to life in prison.
Soto is accused of fatally shooting Jeremy Butcher, 29, and wounding a 38-year-old Dante Ivery on Feb. 10, 2022, on the 1000 block of Yukon Avenue in Akron. Police say Soto arranged to purchase marijuana from Ivery. Butcher was found inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Ivery was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital and survived his wounds.
