A judge has sanctioned a major solar power and battery developer for violating an order that barred it from cutting down trees, removing stumps and preparing land in Bandera County for a solar farm. Judge Patrick Maguire signed an order April 4 enforcing a temporary injunction and requiring Pine Gate Renewables LLC and Rio Lago Solar LLC to pay $10,000 if the companies do not comply by May 2. A hearing is set for that date.
Energy adds 150 megwatts of solar power in new GCI deal The landowners sued Pine Gate in January, saying they are concerned that its development could cause environmental damage and reduce their property values. They said they are worried about loss of native vegetation and soil erosion that would increase runoff and cause chemicals to flow into wells, creeks and aquifers, polluting the water and flooding their properties, according to the lawsuit.
