The parents of a young girl whose hair was cut without her consent at the St. Margaret Mary's school in Harrisburg have now had their lawsuit officially dismissed. The incident in question first happened back in November of 2023 after the unnamed girl got her hair stuck to a piece of Velcro during her music class.
The lawsuit also stated that the child had kept her hair long "as a part of her family religious beliefs in correlation with allowing natural features attributes provided by God to grow naturally," and that she was racially discriminated against. The parents had a 20 day period to appeal the decision with an amended complaint.
CBS 21 reached out to the family's lawyer to confirm if they did file one but have not heard back yet at this time.
