The trial of Ryan Routh, accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump , has been delayed due to ongoing legal complexities. Routh's public defender requested the February 10th trial be postponed until December, citing additional charges and jurisdictional disputes between state and federal authorities. While U.S.
District Judge Aileen Cannon denied the postponement request, she acknowledged that Routh's attorneys have not yet provided notice of an insanity defense, although mental health evaluations are underway. Cannon, a Trump appointee, previously oversaw Trump's classified documents criminal case. Routh is facing attempted murder charges related to his alleged ambush of Trump at a golf club in Florida on September 15th, where he was apprehended by Secret Service agents before firing any shots
