A judge could soon decide on a trial date for a man charged in the deaths of four University of Idaho students who were killed more than a year and a half ago.B
FILE - Bryan Kohberger , right, is escorted into a courtroom for a hearing in Latah County District Court, Sept. 13, 2023, in Moscow, Idaho . A judge says defense attorneys for Kohberger , the man charged in the deaths of four University of Idaho students in late 2022, can resume phone surveys of potential jurors in the case.
A judge entered a not guilty plea on Kohberger's behalf in a May 2023 hearing, and for the past several months Kohberger's defense attorneys and Latah County prosecutors have been wrangling over the evidence and other data gathered throughout the investigation. A sweeping gag order has prevented Kohberger, attorneys on both sides, law enforcement officials and others involved in the case from commenting.
