Social media companies are trying to block a new Ohio law that supporters say would protect kids. A fight over regulating social media is happening in Columbus at the U.S. Courthouse today.A federal judge could decide whether the law takes effect.Big tech has argued the new law violates freedom of speech, but Wednesday, the state of Ohio is expected to fight on the half of parents to regulate their children's social media usage.

"We worked with the companies on it," he said. "We took their input. We tried to make it as easy possible on them. We want people to be able to use any product they want to use. We just don't want these companies and maybe the strangers on these platforms to reach your little ones before they're ready."

NetChoice represents multiple companies, including TikTok, Snapchat, Meta, X and more. It filed the lawsuit against Ohio’s GOP Attorney General Dave Yost in the U.S. District Court of Southern Ohio. “We look forward to making our case to the Court and ensuring Ohioans' First Amendment rights, privacy, and security online are protected,” NetChoice Litigation Center Director Chris Marchese told ABC 6/FOX 28 in written statement.
