A federal judge on Monday blocked health officials from changing the number of vaccines recommended for every child.

S. Capitol in Washington, Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026. A federal judge on Monday blocked health officials from changing the number of vaccines recommended for every child. The new vaccine policy slimmed down immunization requirements. The judge said Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. likely broke federal procedures when he reshuffled the panel that made the recommendations. The panel ended recommendations for all children to be vaccinated against flu, rotavirus, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, some forms of meningitis and RSV. On top of temporarily blocking the Kennedy-appointed board's recommendations, the judge's decision stopped a meeting of the advisory committee, which was set to convene this week in Atlanta.“HHS looks forward to this judge’s decision being overturned just like his other attempts to keep the Trump administration from governing,” said Department of Health and Human Services spokesman Andrew Nixon. All appointments and decisions made by the committee are put on hold until a summary judgment or trial, which must come after the judge's temporary block. The decision originated from a lawsuit filed by the American Academy of Pediatrics last July in a federal court in Boston. It focused on providing recommendations for the COVID-19 vaccine for children and pregnant women. The lawsuit was updated as Kennedy continued to make changes to vaccine requirements. Several doctors’ groups said continue to follow the guidance that was previously in place before the Kennedy-appointed panel made the changes. Health officials in 30 states rejected at least some of the new recommendations. “If anyone has any questions about what’s the appropriate vaccine schedule for their children, the best thing to do is to talk to their pediatricians,” said Dr. Andrew Racine, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics.Closing arguments in the murder trial against Kouri Richins began on Monday morning after nearly three weeks of witness testimony.Kouri Richins was found guilty of murdering her husband, Eric Richins.Kouri Richins, 35, was accused of poisoning and killing Eric Richins by lacing his cocktaiThe 13-year-old boy who was run over by a box truck in Summit County has undergone multiple surgeries after suffering injuries to his face, and possibly his legJurors in the trial of Kouri Richins are expected to return to court to hear closing arguments in the high-profile case involving the death of her husband.A Herriman homeowner said she is still shaken after a man was caught on camera trying to kick in her front door late Friday night in what she believes appears t
