A federal judge said Friday that the Access Hollywood tape featuring former President Trump may be introduced in the civil rape trial brought by E. Jean Carroll.
A federal judge will allow thein which former President Trump bragged about groping women without their consent to be presented as evidence at the upcoming trial in April for the civil rape lawsuit brought by E. Jean Carroll against Trump.
Trump has repeatedly referred to Carroll's claims as a"lie" and a"hoax." She has sued Trump for defamation. "In this case, a jury reasonably could find, even from the Access Hollywood tape alone, that Mr. Trump admitted in the Access Hollywood tape that he in fact has had contact with women's genitalia in the past without their consent, or that he has attempted to do so. And that conclusion is supported by the other evidence discussed below," Kaplan wrote.
E. Jean Carroll claims that former President Trump damaged her reputation in 2019 when he denied raping her.
