Fertuck\u0027s first\u002Ddegree murder trial heard he told undercover officers in 2019 that he shot his estranged wife Sheree in a gravel pit in 2015.
Fertuck told the undercover officer he grabbed his .22 calibre rifle from his truck after Sheree told him she was going to
before she disappeared from the gravel pit, where her keys, cellphone and jacket were left inside her unlocked, abandoned semi. He also said he used a loader to move Sheree’s body into the back of his truck, then drove to a rural area northeast of the pit, where he left her body in a bushy area and covered her with logs.
The Ruger 10/22 semi-automatic rifle found under a storage bin near Kinley, Sask. in November 2021 was presented as Crown evidence at Greg Fertuck’s murder voir dire on Friday, April 29. After reopening his voir dire so he could re-question the ballistics examiner, Fertuck argued nothing connects the Ruger 10/22 and shells to him. He said his admissions during the undercover sting are unreliable because he made everything up.
