The local bourse rose in broad-based gains, led by Naspers, with only the resources index under pressure from a sharp drop by BHP
The JSE was firmer on Wednesday morning, with gold miners and Naspers providing most of the upward momentum.
Ongoing US-China trade talks are being eyed, while US nonfarm payrolls data on Friday is the week's major economic release. Gold was up 0.12% at $1,289.06/oz and platinum was down 0.64% at $832.80. Brent crude was 0.32% lower at $65.43 a barrel.
