PETALING JAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is stepping up efforts to curb commercial vehicle overloading after two motorcyclists were killed in a Putrajaya lorry accident on Wednesday (Sept 20).
JPJ deputy director general Aedy Fadly Ramli said they have instructed all of its state directors to conduct special operations on commercial vehicles.
"We at the JPJ Headquarters will also be monitoring these operations in order to compile a report for our top brass and the Transport Minister," added Aedy Fadly at the Kesas Toll Plaza on Friday . On Wednesday, two male motorcyclists aged 25 and 39 were killed and several others injured after a lorry collided with multiple vehicles in Jalan Persiaran Utara near Putrajaya here.
