Shadow veterans affairs minister Barnaby Joyce has taken aim at the Albanese government over its decision to knock back a request for additional flights from Qatar Airways.
The Middle Eastern airline originally applied to run an extra 21 flights a week into Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, but the offer was rejected by the government in July.
Speaking to Sky News Australia on Thursday, Mr Joyce accused the government of “hiding something” about why it chose to reject Qatar’s bid for more flights into Australia.“It’s the cover up that gets you caught, this is what we are seeing now, they have all got their feet on the sticky paper of this decision.
"This issue – there is a stink – and sooner or later we are going to find where that stink is coming from,” Mr Joyce continued.
