MSNBC host Joy Reid on Monday declared the process of President-elect Donald Trump returning to the White House has been a “violent transfer of power .” Her comments came during a segment of her show “The Reid Out” on the four-year anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. This event, she claimed, was the catalyst for Trump ’s return to the Oval Office. “14 days from today, you will hear many soberly and reverently laud the peaceful transfer of power ,” she said.
“Well, I hate to be the fly at the picnic table, but you can’t peacefully transfer power to an insurrectionist simply because it took them an extra four years to finish the job.” This was a violent transfer of power,” she added. “The most violent in U.S. history if we’re being honest.” President Joe Biden spoke from the White House Rose Garden following the November presidential election, saying he would 'work with team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition.' Trump in October also Reid in November abandoned Elon Musk’s X, citing displeasure with the quality of the news on the website. “Every so often I would use to just look at news that was trending and what’s happening and I would just use it as an aggregator, but I just realized that’s not really worth it,” she said. “Because in order to do the news aggregation and just look at all, you have to wade through a lot of dreck and just abuse and a lot of negativity and it’s just not worth it.
