“He’s just so much fun to watch with the way he plays on both sides of the ball,” Bochy said. “It’s been good to see. I don’t want to say he’s progressed, but because he’s really been this good from Day One.”
Since All-Star voting can turn into a popularity contest skewed by who has more home games — and a chance to campaign for a player — leading up to the deadline, Jung may be at a disadvantage. The Rangers are on the road all next week and will have only three home dates against Detroit before voting ends. Even if he doesn’t make the starting lineup, he could make the roster as a player selection.
