To give the collection a proper cinematic debut, Ritz-Carlton and Late Checkout enlisted filmmaker Rogelio to shoot a campaign film that was produced by Little Spain. All of the above elements made it that much easier for Hutcherson to slip into the threads and get in front of cameras. “I thought it would be a cool combination of a somewhat edgy boutique brand like Late Checkout and the iconic feel of The Ritz Carlton,” Hutcherson tells.
“The launch of The Ritz-Carlton’s capsule collection with Late Checkout is an exciting intersection of our brand’s dedication to service and innovation with a label that challenges classicism in fashion,” says Jamie Kerr, VP and global brand leader of The Ritz-Carlton. “The juxtaposition of our timeless elegance with Late Checkout’s modern, playful aesthetic creates a unique synergy.”
Anton Alvarez and Alex Turrion teamed to launch Late Checkout in 2019, and since then, the brand, which “documents a life of travel, hotels, long working days and even longer parties,” has earned raves for carving out a niche and presenting collections in the form of characters — from employees to guests. The Ritz-Carlton collaboration marks the brand’s first, something that made “perfect sense” says Turrion.
“During our initial years, we focused on cementing our narrative and ensuring everyone understood what we wanted to communicate with our collections and campaigns,” adds the creative director. “As a brand whose whole aesthetic revolves around hotels, collaborating with The Ritz-Carlton and being able to add our unique vision and narrative is a dream come true and a full-circle moment for us.
