Political News and Conservative Analysis About Congress, the President, and the Federal Government

Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has been the target of two assassination attempts just months ahead of the November election. The previous head of the Secret Service resigned following the first attempt, but the details of how these would-be assassins got so close are shrouded in mystery.

Two whistleblowers have alerted that the Secret Service continues to fall short regarding Trump’s security. Hawley appeared on Fox News’s“I tell you what, I’ve had enough of this from Secret Service leadership. I really have. They need to level with the American people about what’s going on here. They need to tell us if Trump is really getting all the security he needs. These rallies need to be safe for everybody who goes to them.

The attack in Butler, Pennsylvania, was the first against a president since Ronald Reagan in 1981. At the time, Trump was days away from becoming the Republican nominee for president and had been on the campaign trail for about 18 months. A shooter killed one and injured three, including Trump. Corey Comperatore, 50, the volunteer fire chief, husband, and father, was the single fatality.

Routh has since pleaded not guilty to one count of attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate and four firearm offenses.
