Josh Duggar Sentenced to More Than 12 Years in Prison Over Child Pornography Case
"We're grateful the judge dismissed Count 2 and rejected the Government's request for a 240-month sentence," Duggar's's attorneyHowever, Duggar's request for a new trial was denied, according to court documents obtained by E! News.At the time of his convictions, his parents told E! News in an exclusive statement that they ""This entire ordeal has been very grievous," their December statement read in part.
"In each of life's circumstances, we place our trust in God. He is our source of strength and refuge. Thank you for your prayers."that the guilty verdict "demonstrates that no person is above the law." He added, "Regardless of wealth, social status, or fame, our office will continue to seek out all individuals who seek to abuse children and victimize them through the downloading, possession, and sharing of child pornography.
