We chat with BluesBigCityAdventure stars Josh Dela Cruz & Donovan Patton about the lasting legacy of BluesClues and what went into the newest paramountplus film:

Josh and Blue, the stars of Blue's Clues & You!, travel to New York City for their feature film musical extravaganza, Blue's Big City Adventure. Directed by Matt Stawsky, Blue's Big City Adventure follows Josh as he travels to New York City to audition for a part in a new musical written by Rainbow Puppy. Along the way, he and Blue are aided by Steve and Joe, played by Steve Burns and Donovan Patton, reprising their roles from the original Blue's Clues series.

Donovan Patton: This one is totally different, because we got to make this movie in New York City. Normally, everything else that happens in the Blue's Clues house is in a blue screen or a green screen environment. So we got to be in the real world, doing that type of stuff. That was totally new and totally cool. And we had a great crew. I got to watch Josh do some stuff that I could never, ever, ever do in my whole life, so that was really fun. For me, it's like...

Mr. Rogers set the precedent of talking directly to the kid at home, and then we set the precedent, Angela Santomero and Traci Paige Johnson, the creators of the show, set the precedent of waiting for the answer. And I think that is the core reason why our show has influenced so many shows, like Elmo's World and everything that followed after. Dora the Explorer. It's because we endeavored, not just to ask the question, but to wait for the answer.
