Thanos in the MCU with the Green Lantern in DC Comics
Josh Brolin is speculated to be in talks to join the rebooted DC Universe as Hal Jordan in the upcoming Lanterns series, and this move from Marvel to DC has been detailed in stunning new art. Josh Brolin is one of the most celebrated and beloved actors of his generation, so would be a huge asset to James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DCU.
Green Lantern Would Be Josh Brolin’s 5th Comic-Book Character Close If speculation concerning Josh Brolin's casting as Hal Jordan's Green Lantern turns out to be true, this would mark the actor's fifth live-action role based on a character from a comic book series. Hal Jordan debuted in DC Comics in 1959's Showcase #22, so he would be the oldest comic book character played by Brolin, though close on his heels are DC Comics' Jonah Hex and Marvel Comics' Mad Titan, Thanos.
Following his portrayal of Jonah Hex, Josh Brolin appeared as a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K in 2012's Men in Black 3. The Men in Black franchise was adapted from the Marvel Comics series, which spanned six issues in 1990 and 1991. 2012 also marked the first appearance of Thanos in the MCU, though Brolin wouldn't portray the iconic Marvel supervillain until 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy.
In the same year that Thanos waged war on the cosmos and wiped out half the population of the universe, Deadpool 2 also featured Josh Brolin as the mutant time traveler Cable. The antihero Cable eventually became a member of Deadpool's team, but was curiously missing from Deadpool & Wolverine.
