Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is preparing to welcome his old club to Turkey on Thursday evening in the Europa League
Manchester United will go up against a familiar acquaintance in the Europa League on Thursday night as Jose Mourinho 's Fenerbahce are the hosts for Erik ten Hag's team.
Indeed, in his first interview post-United in January 2019, Mourinho offered up what he confessed to be a 'crazy' theory about his spell at Old Trafford. In December 2020, having now taken on the job at Tottenham Hotspur, Mourinho was regretful about how quickly his time ended at Old Trafford but understood the perils of modern management. "The first club where I felt I need time and time was not given was at Manchester United," he told the media prior to a meeting with the Reds in the Premier League.
"At Man United, the fans are special and there are lots of good people inside the club, so it’s not like I’m happy to be right," he told BT Sport in 2022. "I would like to be wrong, but I knew that I was right.
