Jordan Poole talks Draymond Green punch, contract extension with Warriors
SAN FRANCISCO — Coach Steve Kerr wasn’t sure after Jordan Poole’s rookie season that the former No. 28 overall pick would get to where he was Sunday morning, inking a lucrative four-year extension to stay with Golden State.
Kerr called Poole’s ascension from potential bust to a key contributor on the Warriors’ championship team “pretty remarkable. Poole was the first Warriors player in the gym when it reopened amid the pandemic. He was determined to prove he belonged. Green punched Poole in the face at practice Oct. 5, resulting in Green stepping away from the team for a week before returning Thursday.
