Jordan Peele takes over the Netflix Top 10, with his first two breakout horror films, Get Out and Us, scoring spots on the daily viewing chart.

Making his directorial debut with Get Out in 2017, Peele has become a major star in the horror genre. Following the success of Get Out, which earned him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, he went on to direct Us and Nope, both of which continue his trend of making social issue-based horror parables.
Well ahead of the next Peele movie in 2024, the director's first two efforts get a second wind as both Get Out and Us make the Netflix Top 10, according to FlixPatrol. At the time of writing on October 15, Us stood at No. 9 while Get Out followed at No. 10 for the Daily Top 10 chart. Topping the list was Tammy, a 2014 Melissa McCarthy comedy.
Why Get Out & Us Deserve Their Renaissance This Netflix Top 10 trend is a notable feat for Peele, as a director seeing more than one movie reach this level of streaming popularity at once is a rare phenomenon. The success also comes shortly after the two movies were released on Netflix. Thus, not only were audiences eager to revisit Peele's work, it seems both Get Out and Us were top priority for viewers pretty immediately after hitting Netflix.
Get Out is especially deserving of this second wind given the conversation that surrounded it upon release. When it was first announced, many were surprised that Peele, a comedian, would transition to horror for his feature film debut. Peele’s humorous sensibilities ended up paying off, as within Get Out’s horror is a number of comedic moments, including false jump scares and cringe-inducing family interactions.
The movie Us is also worthy of a second watch, and luckily will receive one from many now that it is available on Netflix. Peele’s sophomore feature gained significantly less awards traction than Get Out, but nonetheless features an engaging story and shocking twist ending, along with a career-best performance from star Lupita Nyong’o. Additionally, Netflix viewers’ support of Get Out and Us hopefully bodes well for Peele’s eventual fourth film.
