Olympian Jordan Chiles spoke at the Teen Vogue 2024 Summit about everything from mental health to following your dreams and what she's looking forward to in the future. In a conversation with Teen Vogue Associate Editor Aiyana Ishmael, Chiles opened up about how the Olympics , which she has competed in twice so far, were always a dream, but still, it came with a lot of pressure. “There is a lot of pressure, but I take my pressure turned into something great,” Chiles said.
People will always expect you to do something, but when I look at those people, I ask those people, ‘Why do you expect something out of me when I’m the one doing it?’” The confidence translates into personal mantras. And those are important when you are competing at the top of your sport. “When I wake up and look at myself in the mirror, and say, 'I am that girl,' she said.
