The DC movie, Joker which was released back in 2019 received critical acclaim, particularly on the plot’s direction and the brilliant performance of Joaquin Phoenix as the titular character.

During its production, Joker 2 was said to be a musical – a far cry from the original film’s psychological genre. The theory about the sequel being a musical was even “stronger” when director Todd Philips hinted that a whopping 15 cover songs and other original songs would be featured in the sequel.

Despite the musical elements, Todd assured the fans that Folie a Deux will NOT veer too far away from the original film. Based on the trailer, Joker and Harley Quinn are seen dancing around to music, and if you remember, Joker danced in the 1st film too, especially during the iconic stairs scene. According to Todd, that shows the “music” in Joker.Todd Philips is also known for his directorial work in The Hangover trilogy.
