Johor to step up maritime security
State maritime authorities will intensify operations and patrols in Johor waters especially during the Aidilfitri holiday season to check the entry of illegal visitors. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 19, 2020.
THE Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency has detected more than 20 sea routes in Johor that are believed to be the entry and exit points for illegal immigrants from Indonesia to this country. Johor maritime operations deputy director captain Sanifah Yusof said one of the locations was the waters off west Johor from Kukup, Pontian to Batu Pahat.
