JOHOR BARU: An economic advisory council has been formed to ensure development and growth in the state post Covid-19 pandemic, says Datuk Hasni Mohammad.

The Mentri Besar said the pandemic has impacted not only the norms of societies, but also badly affected economic activities globally.

Hasni said the SERC would plan and give its recommendations on economic reformation, which consist of policies, procedures and strategic directions to reform Johor’s economy post Covid-19. Hasni said the committee was expected to hold its first meeting next week to review current economic challenges, as well as identify future direction of the state economy."The establishment of a digital bank will make the financial sector more inclusive and to provide monetary service that is more quality and responsible in all marketing segment.

He added that the state government was also planning to review and strengthen the Singapore-Johor-Indonesia triangle of growth.
