JOHOR BARU: A 'Datuk' who is the former chairman of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) and the NGO's treasurer have been arrested here for allegedly making a false claim worth RM11,000 from a government agency.
JOHOR BARU: A"Datuk" who is the former chairman of a non-governmental organisation and the NGO's treasurer have been arrested here for allegedly making a false claim worth RM11,000 from a government agency.
The two suspects, who are 47 and 43 years old, respectively, were arrested at the Johor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Sunday after giving their statements. It is learnt that the two suspects made a false claim from a government agency in Johor Baru at the end of January 2021 to get supply for a treatment and recovery programme where the supply was never delivered.
The Johor MACC director confirmed the arrest, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 for providing documents that are false or contain false details with the intention to deceive the principle.Article type: free
