PUTRAJAYA: All ministries' machinery have been directed to assist post-flood operations in Johor with the Finance Ministry approving an additional RM150mil for this, says Datuk Seri Anwar IbrahimThe Prime Minister and Finance Minister said this was decided at the Cabinet meeting he chaired on Friday , which focussed on efforts to help flood victims in the state.

According to Anwar, a total of 82,831 victims were moved to temporary relief centres in Johor during the floods, and 26,879 evacuees are still at 102 centres there. Anwar said he had also asked Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari to provide volunteers for relief work in Johor. On Thursday , Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar urged the Federal Government to provide a special allocation for the state to repair infrastructure and property damaged in the floods.
