KOTA TINGGI: Three water treatment plants (LRA) in Johor, which are still under construction, will be temporarily activated to meet demand during Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Johor works, transportation and infrastructure committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh said the decision was based on the water supply mitigation plan conducted recently with Ranhill SAJ Sdn Bhd."LRA Lok Heng was supposed to be completed in June this year; LRA Air Panas C in August; and LRA Layang 2 in November," he said when met by reporters after his working visit to LRA Lok Heng, here, on Tuesday .
LRA Lok Heng, which has a capacity of 10 million litres per day , will temporarily supply 9 MLD; LRA Air Panas C with 17 MLD from 26 MLD; and LRA Layang 2 with 80 MLD, he added. "We have also identified around 2,800 accounts that are often affected by low water pressure during the holiday season and prepared a mitigation plan that includes sending water tankers and static water tanks to areas when needed," he added.
Ranhill SAJ has prepared 28 water tankers in Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, and Pontian; 275 static tanks in various locations all over the state; 19 portable water tanks; and 11 generators in case there is an electric trip in the main LRA, he added.
