Brian Giles was convicted by a jury in June for killing wife Nancy and burying her body in a shallow grave on a Johnstown trail.
Giles was arrested and charged with homicide in May of 2022, following a three-and-a-half-year investigation into the disappearance and death of his wife. In a meeting with 6 News before his trial, Giles maintained his innocence. He continued doing so Tuesday during his sentencing. While being sentence, Giles continuously interrupted the judge and was eventually escorted from the courtroom by sheriff deputies. As he was being take out Giles cussed out prosecutors and several others in the room.Cambria County district attorney Greg Neugebauer said he does expect appeals in the case, but the defense would not comment on the matter.
The day after the verdict was reached in Giles' trial, Johnstown police and fire department were seen at Giles’ former residence, located along Franklin Street in the Kernville section of the city.She disappeared in December of 2020.
