Becky Copson has bravely shared her journey with mental health and talked candidly about her battle with postnatal depression and the trauma that followed her after the frightening incident.
A Renfrewshire mum who suffered from postnatal depression has opened up on the "traumatic" car crash she had while her baby was on board.
She told Glasgow Live: "I got out of the car and somebody had stopped. I kept saying 'I don’t know what happened' then I completely shut down. It triggered a week-long bad spell where I couldn’t focus on anything, I couldn’t see anything good. The mum-of-two has spoken candidly about her battle with mental health, which has been something she has lived with since she was a little girl.
She added: "My personality completely changed. Dan is the best partner in the world and I was screaming really offensive things at him. Becky said: "With manic depression, I will be like I can’t believe what’s happening to me and everything is awful - or everything is amazing and I talk really fast. "I take medication daily and it absolutely helps me function. It’s irritating if I don’t take my medication, I get frustrated and the kids get wound up."I couldn’t have done it without my family. My partner is incredibly supportive and understanding.
