Keldon Johnson, Josh Primo targeting next week for return
Guard Josh Primo and forward Keldon Johnson should be back for the Spurs’ final two preseason games, coach Gregg Popovich says.Spurs coach Gregg Popovich expressed optimism Thursday that forward Keldon Johnson and guard Josh Primo will see action before the end of the preseason.
Both suffered minor injuries in open gym scrimmages before the start of training camp Sept. 27. Johnson dislocated his right shoulder, while Primo sprained his left medial collateral ligament. “The preseason is good for us bonding and jelling, and we have a young team, so I’m just excited to get them back and have our whole roster for a few games,” Vassell said. “It will also be huge for them to get back and get their rhythm going.”Popovich wasn’t the only head coach on the floor with a championship during Thursday morning’s shootaround.
