One of the less bizarre things about yesterday was that Boris Johnson made his Parliamentary hairdresser an OBE in his resignation honours list. It’s what he seems to be doing to his own party that is truly startling. Mr Johnson’s resignation has triggered a total of three by-elections – so far.
The departure of his greatest Commons cheerleader Nadine Dorries yesterday was followed this afternoon by another close ally Nigel Adams. A mounting headache for the current Prime Minister here at Number 10 – who must be wondering where the next landmine will explode.
